Taylor Corbet Tsai

Taylor Corbet Tsai, 44, passed away unexpectedly from complications of COVID on October 3, 2021 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Taylor was born on February 19, 1977 in Wheaton, Illinois, the son of, Chao and Jeanne (Corbett) Tsai.

He graduated from Grand Rover Academy in 1995 and attended Kent State University for two years. Taylor married the love of his life, Sharon “Shari” K. Brawley on October 24, 1998; later this month they would have celebrated their 23rd Wedding Anniversary.

Taylor was employed for the past 19 years as a Correction’s Officer for the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department.  Taylor had many interests and hobbies: He enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards and traveling.  Taylor spent the first 4 years of his life living in Taiwan and as  a teenager would spend summers with his father in Malaysia.  After his mother’s passing he started to return to Taiwan every year so his son would experience his Asian heritage.  He was blessed to reconnect with his father, and sisters to watch them grow into young women.  Taylor also loved to take cruises and has been to the Caribbean, Alaska and Europe.  The family did many road trips together across the country from Florida to visit his adopted Grandma, Dorthy Slabaugh and throughout the south.  Most recently taking a family trip to Vegas for his son’s 21st birthday.  His greatest source of happiness came from spending quality time with his family.

Taylor is survived by his loving wife, Shari Tsai, his beloved son, Logan Taylor Tsai, his father, Chao Tsai, his sisters, Peggy and Pey-en Tsai of Kaohsiung, Taiwan and his grandmother, “A-Ma”.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Tsai and his grandfather.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 45 W. Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. A Funeral Service will be held at the same Funeral Home on Saturday, October 9th at 11:00 a.m., with the burial to immediately follow at Ridgeview Cemetery in Ashtabula.
