Shirley Smith Obituary

Shirley A. Smith, age 73, Denmark Twp., loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed peacefully at Hillcrest Hospital on April 8, 2021 due to complications from Covid and pneumonia.

Shirley was born on June 22, 1947 to John E. and Margaret (Wilkins) Morse.

 Shirley married the love of her life, Donald “Smitty” Smith on July 3, 1965.  The couple welcomed four children into the world and enjoyed 54 years of marriage until Smitty’s passing in 2019 with Shirley by his side.

In addition to her loving spouse, Shirley is preceded in death by her infant daughter; Shirley Ann; both her parents and two brothers, Martin Reeb and Robert “Bobby’ Morse. 

Shirley is survived by her loving sons, Jim (Kathy) Smith of Delaware and Bill Smith of Denmark Twp. as well as her daughter, Dawn Smith Woodford of Delaware; her granddaughter, Eliza (Tony) Glenboski of Parma; sisters, Patricia (Bert) Covell of Madison and Margaret
Zwierlein  of Newton Falls, Ohio and brother John (Jack) Morse of Jefferson, Pa. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

At the wishes of Shirley, no funeral services will be held.  The family will organize a private memorial service at a later date.  Memorial contributions can be made to Wounded Warrior Project www.woudedwarriorproject.org,  P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS.  66675-8516.
