Rose Maria (Goodale) Cole

Rose Maria (Goodale) Cole, 62, passed away on November 9, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Rose was born on August 7, 1959 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of John and Hildegard (Hardt) Goodale.

She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1977.

Rose married the love of her life Derren W. Cole on July 3, 1976, recently they just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.

She was the Chief Clerk of Courts for Ashtabula (Eastern) County Court. She started working for the court systems when she was 18 and had to retire this past September due to her health.

Rose had many interests and hobbies such as: crocheting, cross-stitching, bowling, crafting, wreath making, gardening, planting flowers, and played slow pitch softball in the Ashtabula County Women’s Softball League for Boczar Trucking for who she was a pitcher. Rose loved her work family and the friendships she established there were some of the best she could ever ask for; she was so proud of her family and her happiest moments were anytime she was with them and her beloved granddogs, Peanut and Oreo. She will be missed so very dearly by so many.

She is survived by her dear husband, Derren Cole, her mother, Hildegard Goodale, her loving children, Kristi (Kevin) Davis, Jarrod Cole, and Ashley Cole, her granddaughter, Melanie Davis, her brother Pastor Hugh (Jill) Goodale, and her sister-in-law, Teresa Abercrombie.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Goodale.

A Private Family only viewing will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Fleming and Billman Funeral Home, 49 West Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio. Graveside service open to the public and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
