Marjorie J. Pope, 85 of Saybrook Township died Sunday (Nov. 15th) at Saybrook Landing. She was born December 17, 1934 in Ashtabula the daughter of Leo F. and Virginia (Gasky) Sullivan and has been a lifetime area resident.
She was a 1952 graduate of Ashtabula High School and had attended Ohio University.
She is a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She had been an auxiliary member of the Elks and in her younger years active in the Women’s Service League She enjoyed bowling, traveling and had spent winters in Florida with her husband for a number of years.
Surviving her are her two sons, Marc (Theresa) Pope of Saybrook Township and Thomas (Melissa) Pope of Saybrook Township; three grandchildren, Brittany, Alex and Jillian; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Easton and Lincoln and a niece, Jackie Zannelli. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ezra Thomas Pope in 2011; a sister, Delores Zannelli; a brother Kenneth Sullivan and a nephew, Greg Zannelli.
A mass of Christian burial will be Thursday (Nov. 19th) at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Peace, Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 West 6th St. Ashtabula with Rev. Father Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday at Mother of Sorrows Church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
