Lawrence J. “Larry” Meaney, age 63 of Plymouth Twp., died Wednesday morning at the Cleveland Clinic-Hillcrest Hospital following injuries sustained in a falling accident.
He was born November 25, 1956 in Ashtabula, the son of Lawrence V. & Coletta C. (Boyle) Meaney and has been an area resident all of his life. Larry had a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Cleveland State University. He also held his Waste Water Management License. Larry was an assistant supervisor with Ashtabula City Waste Water Management.
Larry was married to Michelle A. Mericka on October 5, 1985 at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson where they are still members. His interests and hobbies included spending time with his family, garage sales, auctions, flea markets, always working around his property, growing tomatoes and always willing to help a neighbor or friend.
Larry is survived by his wife, Michelle; two sons, Jack L. (Megan) Meaney of Marshallville & Daniel W. (Katie) Meaney of Glendale, AZ; three sisters, JoAnne (Jon) Herrmann of Cincinnati, Barbara (Rick) Mastriana of Lake Milton & Suzanne (Jeffrey) Kelly of Ashtabula and a brother, Lee (Kathy) Meaney of Youngstown. His parents and a sister, Jean Falconer preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 12:00PM at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson with Fr. Phillip Miller, classmate of Larry’s officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Monday from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral home. Please respect social distancing during the service and visitation.
