Jane Ellen Wilson

Jane E. Wilson, age 73 of Jefferson, died early Tuesday morning at the Western Reserve David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.

She was born April 12, 1946 in Meriden, CT, the daughter of the late John E. & Wilna Charlotte (Geehring) Wilson and has lived much of her life in Jefferson.

Jane was an artist and missionary.  She served 14 years teaching crafts and the love of Jesus to deaf children in Haiti. She formerly worked for a greeting card company and the Jefferson Gazette.  She loved the way the Lord worked in her mind to create real looking animals and nativity scenes.  She received multiple winning ribbons at the Mt. Gilead Gourd Festival for her work.

Jane formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Jefferson and was currently involved at the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by a sister, Louise W. Bradley in Forestville, CA; three nieces, Adelia Canterbury and Maude & Albertha Bradley; a nephew, Reason Bradley and five great-nieces and nephews, Mikaella, Augustus, Magnus, Fiona & Raymond.

Private burial of cremains will take place in Oakdale Cemetery.  Memorial gifts in Jane’s name may be made to the Haitian Christian Center for the Deaf, c/o the First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, OH  44047.
