James E. Wright 67 of Harpersfield Twp. Geneva died Wednesday (September 16th) at his home after a long illness. He was born September 7, 1953 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
Jim was a 1972 graduate of Ashtabula High School. He worked for Reliance Electric until its closing, after which he worked for the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department as a corporal in the correction division.
He was a member of the First Covenant Church in Ashtabula. He enjoy golfing, woodworking, his Mustang, camping, going to car racing events and being with his friends and family. When his boys were young he was active in the Ashtabula Little League and Indian Guides.
Surviving him is his father, Richard Wright of Ashtabula; his wife Jean (Battles) Wright whom he married July 29, 1972; two sons, Steven (Jennifer) Wright of Charlotte, North Carolina and Thomas (Lisa) Wright of Geneva; and four grandchildren, Lily Rose, Jack, Amelia and Ian.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty (Craft) Wright; his brother, Michael Wright and grandson, Simon Wright.
The funeral service will be Saturday (Sept. 19th) at 12:00 PM at the First Covenant Church, 3300 Carpenter Rd. Ashtabula with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Bruce Wyand will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Plymouth Township. Face masks will be required.
