James P. Warren 82, of Ashtabula Township passed away Tuesday, July 27th . He was born February 16, 1939 in Ashtabula, the son of Cecil and Edna (Bliss) Warren and was a lifetime area resident.
He graduated in 1957 from Ashtabula High School, where he was served as class president. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army and attended Kent State University. Jim worked in sales that took him throughout Ohio. Jim loved Ashtabula. Jim was proud charter member and key facilitator of the establishment of the Ashtabula Township Volunteer Fire Department, he was a member of the Jaycees, the Township Zoning Committee, the Bicentennial Parade of 1976, and many others.
Jim is a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. He enjoyed his family, friends and singing in the Town Choir. He was a talented artist and avid Cleveland sports fan. Surviving him are his children, Christopher (Helen) Warren of Falls Church, Virginia, Jennifer (Rick) Venczel of Cleveland and Katie (Dave) Rozzo of Ashtabula, five grandchildren, Jared, Sara, Conor, Ryan, and Shaylyn and two great grandchildren, Urijah and Sophia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his love of his life, Karen for 51 years; his daughter Peggy Warren in 2017; his granddaughter, Janelle in 2019 and his brother, Chuck Warren and his three sisters, Rosella Pilkington, Jane Sironen and Doris Welser.
A mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, July 31st at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Joseph Church, 3312 Lake Ave. Ashtabula. Burial will follow the mass at Edgewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the mass Saturday, July 31 from 11:00 am until the time of service at the church at noon.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carrington Park for the wonderful care and support they gave to Jim in his final years.
