In Jefferson, she and her husband raised their five sons, and she was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church where she was involved in the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved being a homemaker, gardening, knitting, and doing crossword puzzles that helped her learn and maintain her English.

She is survived by five sons: Dr. Lawrence (Janice) of Falmouth, Maine; Brian (Melodie) of Sagamore Hills; Curt of Fowler; Martin (Denise) of Wooster; and Peter (Jessica) of North Charleston, South Carolina.  Other surviving family includes siblings Ruth of Bad Sobernheim and Jürgen of Memmingen, Germany; sister-in-law Elfriede of Ohio; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and extended family in Germany, France, Spain, and the United States.
