Louis E. Smith, 74 of Trumbull Township died Saturday (Oct. 7th) in the Hospice Unit at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1943 in Portsmouth, Ohio the son of Lonnie and Lola (Stewart) Smith.

He had worked for Geneva Pipe Lines in Geneva until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, boating, airplanes and he was a pet lover.

Surviving him are his wife Rosemary whom he married August 14, 1979, five children, Debbie (George) Batvinis of Brooker, Florida. Vicky (Henry) Miernik of Garfield Hts, Gregory (Grace) Wimbs of Geneva, Theresa (John) Putt of Trumbull Twp. and Michelle Wimbs of Ft. Myers, Fla.; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Dote Hess of Madison, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lisa Wimbs; a grandson, Noah Wimbs; two brothers, Sam and Robert Smith and a sister, Agnes Smith.

Funeral service will be Thursday (Oct. 12th) at 11:00 AM at the Geneva Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 323 South Broadway, Geneva with Pastor Tony Boyd of The City officiating. Burial will be in Trumbull Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Wednesday (Oct. 11th) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
