Judith C. May, 80, of Ashtabula Township died Wednesday, March 14th, at Altercare in Mentor, Ohio. She was born September 21, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Colin Donald and Evelyn (Kiddle) Clark.
She was a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Speech and Hearing Pathology and Audiology. She worked for the Toledo Public Schools and the Geneva Area City Schools until her retirement.
She is a member of the Ashtabula First United Methodist Church where she was very active in the church circles and the Open Door Bible class. She was also a member of the Ashtabula County Retired Teachers Association, AAUW, and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, walking, swimming, and spending time with her dogs. She absolutely loved being with her family, and especially her granddaughters.
Surviving her is her daughter, Mary (Kevin) Rossi of Mentor; a son, Carl (Bonnie) May, Jr. of Ashtabula; two granddaughters, Emily Elizabeth and Natalie Taylor Rossi; and two sisters, Linda (Larry) Nicka of Kingsville and Margaret (David, deceased) Matthews of Erie, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. May, Sr. in 1975, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday (March 24th) at 1:00 PM at the Ashtabula First United Methodist Church, 4506 Elm Ave. Ashtabula, with Rev. Christine Bell officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church, 4506 Elm Ave. Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004, or to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd. Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
