Eleanor Grace (Farrow) Ferguson

Eleanor G. Ferguson, age 94, died Monday evening at the Andover Village Retirement Center.

She was born May 6, 1924 in Ashtabula, the daughter of John & Grace (Silvieus) Farrow and has been an Ashtabula County resident all of her life.  She was a graduate of Ashtabula High School.  Eleanor married Wendell M. Ferguson on June 21, 1947 in Ashtabula.  Eleanor was a homemaker but did work a short time at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co. in her early life and she and Wendell owned and operated Ferguson Dairy Farm in Morgan Twp.

She was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.  Eleanor enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bowling and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Eleanor is survived by five children, Susan (Dr. John) Cronkhite of Bloomington, IN, Melvin (Sherry) Ferguson of Jefferson, Deborah (Gerry) Chapek of Seven Hills, Pamela (Daniel) Keep of Dorset Twp. & Jacqueline (Frank) Teed of Conneaut; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Barbara (Thomas) Topper of West Middlesex, PA.

Her parents, her husband, Wendell, an infant daughter, Rebecca Lynn Ferguson and a brother, Robert Farrow all preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Diectors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. John Werner of the First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating.  Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10-11AM Monday prior to the service.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E.
