Donald L. DeDomenic, 86 of Ashtabula died Thursday (Nov. 28th) at the Ashtabula County and Nursing Rehabilitation. He was born February 5, 1933 in Meadville, Pa the son of Louis R. and Wilmina V. (Cullen) DeDomenic.
Donald was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict as a military policeman.
He attended Alliance College and was employed by R.M.I for 35 years as a process operator.
He is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ashtabula. He and his wife travel all over the country on Amtrak. He enjoyed trips to the casino. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid bowler and golfer. He played baseball in high school and college and he loved the Cleveland Indians. Most of all he loved watching his grandchildren in all their sporting events and activities.
Surviving him is wife Ruth whom he married June 29, 1957; four children, Teresa (David) Hood of Rosamond, California, Michele (Dennis Hutchison) Orr of Copley, Michael (Judy) DeDomenic of Ashtabula and Mark (Shannon) DeDomenic of Norton; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Kuhn of Meadville, Pa and Lynn Bloom of Richmond, Virginia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Rosemary in infancy, a brother Richard and two sisters, Jean Noel and Patricia Jones.
Funeral service will be Friday (Dec. 6th) at 1:00 pm at the Ashtabula home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 West Prospect Rd. with Rev. Preston Watkins of The First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Calling hours will be Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation and also Hospice of the Western Reserve for the wonderful care they gave to Donald.
