Cora Jean Kekelis, age 92, Rome-Rock Creek Rd., Morgan Twp., died Thursday morning at her grandson’s residence where she has resided the past three years.

She was born February 8, 1925 in Cleveland and resided in Painesville more than 65 years before coming to Rock Creek.  She was married to Alexander Kekelis on July 7, 1945 in Cleveland.  Mrs. Kekelis worked  several years at the Mag-Nif Corp.

The Kekelis’s wintered in Florida several years while living in Painesville.  She was a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville, enjoyed gardening and playing bingo and loved animals, especially horses.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Robert A. (Natalie) Janouskovec of Rock Creek, Scott D. Janouskovec of Painesville & Brittany (Travis) Corstange in Texas, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a son-in-law, Richard L. (Patricia) Janouskovec of Montville Twp., a sister-in-law, Patricia J. Semenuk of Perry and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Edith Oswald Heck & Lloyd Bridgeman, her husband, Alexander in 2015, a daughter, Connie L. Janouskovec, a son, Alex Rick Kekelis and a brother, Charles K. “Chuck” Semenuk.

A memorial celebration will be held Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2-5 P. M. at the residence of Pam & Chris Kovacic, 3415 St. Rt. 534, Rock Creek, OH  44084.  Private burial of Cora Jean & Alexander’s ashes will be in Concord Twp.
