Claire P. Carkhuff, age 53, of S. Poplar St., Jefferson, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence.  She was born June 10, 1964 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Anthony & Shirley (Irons) Muto.

She has been a resident of Ashtabula County the majority of her life.  She enjoyed motorcycles, her cats and more importantly her family whom she cherished.

She is survived by her son, Timothy G. Gillispie of Geneva; sister, Toni J. (Arnold) Robinson of Geneva; brother, Anthony R.  Muto of Geneva; grandchildren, Reznor C.  & Xavier G. Gillispie,  Maili M. McCormick.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Irons; sister, Dalana M. Oplinger.

Honoring Claire’s wishes no services will be held.  Contributions can be made in her honor to the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.  The Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W.
