Carol J. (Pierce) Harvey, age 69, longtime Jefferson resident, died unexpectedly Friday morning at her winter residence in Zephyrhills, FL.
Carol was born August 20, 1948 in Ashtabula the daughter of John S. & Betty M. (Sleeper) Pierce and was an Ashtabula Co. resident all of her life before moving to Berlin Center two years ago. She was married to Ralph A. Harvey on February 17, 1968 in Ashtabula. Carol’s employments over the years were at K-Mart, Jefferson Area Local Schools and Chapman Food Service.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Ashtabula, the Gideon Auxiliary and the Living with Cancer Support Group of Ashtabula. Carol was an extraordinary cook and enjoyed baking and sewing.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph, four sons and their children, Brian A. (Christine) Harvey and David, Lynsey Hillier & Billy of Twinsburg, Brad A. (Tracy) Harvey and Shyann, Zachary, Brandon, Anthony & Christopher of Akron, Bruce A. (Robyn) Harvey and Marcus & Matthew of Moorestown, NJ & Brett A. (Amanda) Harvey and Sebastian & Sylvia of Ravenna; her parents, John & Betty Pierce of Zephyrhills, FL, a brother; Sherman (Mary) Pierce of Saybrook Twp. and a sister, Roberta Russell of Independence, MO.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 A. M. at the First Church of God, 1910 S. Ridge West, Ashtabula with the Rev. Hal Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Church of God at the above address, envelopes will also be at the funeral home and church.
