Barbara M. Sanborn, age 92, formerly of Sanborn Rd., died early Monday morning at the Carington Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she has been a patient the past four years.
She was born August 26, 1926 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Boyd & Mildred (Gallup) Leonard and has lived in the Ashtabula area most of her life. Mrs. Sanborn was a graduate of the Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University.
Mrs. Sanborn was a retired registered nurse from Dr. Harmon Tidd’s office and previously worked at Ashtabula General Hospital, for Drs. McCauley & Johnson and the Ashtabula Clinic. She was a member of the Ashtabula Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ and was a full-time, regular pioneer with her local congregation. She was a member of the Presidential Associates Club of Case Western Reserve University and in her younger years was active in sports and band during high school.
She is survived by a son, Donald G. (Susan) Mack of Ashtabula, two nephews, David & Gary Leonard and a great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Sanborn in 1989, a daughter, Abigail Lucinda Mack at birth and a brother & sister-in-law, Donald & Bonnie Leonard.

Memorial services will be held Friday at 7:00 PM at the Ashtabula Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Kingdom Hall, 3420 South Ridge Rd. West, Ashtabula, with Thomas Busch leading the service. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-7 PM prior to the service.
