Brenda K. Workman, 49 of Benefit Ave. Ashtabula went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 30th at her home. She was born December 1, 1960 in Ashtabula the daughter of James and Mary (Bobbitt) Whalen and has been a lifetime area resident.

She was a graduate of Geneva High School. She enjoyed reading, going to yard sales, watching CSI and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving her is her husband, Dwight Workman whom she married Jan. 9, 1981; three daughters, Stephanie Workman, Amanda (Thomas Phan) Workman, and Melanie (James Pierce) Workman all of Ashtabula; her grandchildren, Marie Workman, Andrew Phan, Kayla Phan, Lillian Pierce and a unborn grandson; four brothers, Ray Bobbitt of Indiana, Carl Mitchum of Indiana, Jim Whalen, Jr . of Ashtabula and Terry Whalen of Ashtabula and her special friends, Mary Svenson and Candy Hite. She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers, Fred Mitchum and William Bobbitt.

A graveside service will be Friday (Sept. 3rd) at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 292 Eastwood St. Geneva, Ohio with Rev. Robert Falke officiating.

David E. Bauer, age 68, E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, died Sunday evening at the Ashtabula Co. Nursing Home following complications of cancer. He had been a patient there the past week.

He was born November 22, 1941 in Warren, the son of Clarence J. & Marie (Smith) Bauer and has been a resident of this area the past seven years, coming from Warren. Mr. Bauer was a retired employee of Standard Transformer. He was a member of the Warren Moose Lodge and enjoyed collecting coins, doing word search puzzles, walking and flower gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy M. (Gerard) Michalak of Painesville and Kimberly D. (Thomas) Richmond of Dorset Twp., three grandchildren, Bernie & Brittany Michalak and Thomas Richmond, Jr., three brothers and two sisters, John F. Bauer of Vienna, Mary L. Galloway of Alabama, William J. Bauer of Silver Springs, MD, Robert N. Bauer of Roanoke, VA & Evelyn M. Zeller of Southington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James E. & Paul N. Bauer.

Memorial services will be held Friday at 6:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Alisa Nierzejewski, Certified Celebrant leading the service. Private burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Vienna.

Ana Cecilia Diaz, 84 of East 26th St. Ashtabula died Wednesday (August 25th) at the Country Club Retirement Campus. She was born February 1, 1926 in Guayama, Puerto Rico the daughter of Jose and Herminic (Rodriquez) Diaz.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed sewing, listening to music and spending time with her granddaughters.

Surviving her are five children, Carmen Regina Rios of Connecticut, Santiago Flex Nuniz of Indiana, Cruz Cora of Puerto Rico, Pablo Cora of Massachusetts and Maria Cora of Ashtabula; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a sister, Gualberta Diaz of Ashtabula and four nieces, Hilda Nater, Luisa Santiago, Juana Oquendo and Dora Higgins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anastacio Cora and two children, Tacito Cora and Rosalee Cora.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday (August 30th) at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Church, 1200 East 21st St. Ashtabula with Rev. Father Joseph Ruggieri officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Saybrook Township.

Marie H. Topper, age 90, Joanne Dr., Orlando, FL., died Wednesday afternoon at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Born on December 17, 1919, a cold winter day in Rays Corner in Lenox Twp., Ohio, she was placed on the woodstove to keep her warm. She was the daughter of Andrew W. & Marie M. (Diemer) Corkrean who had a farm on Stumpville Rd. She was a 1938 graduate of Jefferson High School and went on to graduate from City Hospital School of Nursing in Akron in 1941. She worked very hard in her nursing career and was very proud to be an “RN”.

She married her “one and only”, John Wendall Topper, in the summer of 1942 on June 13th. Recently they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Topper was a devoted wife and beloved mother. She was of the catholic faith attending and volunteering at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, St. Anne Catholic Church in Bristol, VA., St. Andrews Catholic Church in Erie, PA and Holy Family Catholic Church in N. Miami, FL.

Marie was a 4-H leader for 17 years in N. Miami from 1955-72. She enjoyed teaching, gardening-especially flowers, sewing and cooking. She loved the arts, music, poetry and writing. She worked endless hours in support with Patty’s Special Education teachers. They always attended Patty’s Special Olympics events with great joy.

Survivors include her husband, Jack, six children and their spouses, John & Vi Topper of Yakima, WA, Jo Marie & Douglas Roberts of Linville Falls, NC, Douglas & Sue Ellen Topper of Mason Twp., ME, David & Donna Topper of Marietta, GA, Janice & Paul Franzo of Orlando, FL & Patricia Mae Topper of Newland, NC, 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a sister, Josephine “Jo” Curie and a brother, John W. (Dorothy) Corkrean, both of Jefferson. Others include nieces and nephews of the Corkrean, Curie, Topper & Diemer families. Her parents preceded her in death.

The funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A. M. at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, OH with the Rev. Stephen Wassie officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Eldon G. Roberts, age 87, Charolais Dr., Lakeland, FL, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening at his residence with his family by his side. He died peacefully after fighting lung cancer.

He was born January 2, 1923 in Lenox Twp., the son of Nelson G. & Vida M. (Frase) Roberts and lived in Jefferson for 65 years before moving to Florida in 1988. Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in World War II. He was married to Frances M. Sleeper on August 22, 1943, they just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Roberts retired in 1988 after working as office manager for Douglas Lumber, served 10 years as office manager for Laird Lumber and worked 19 years at Union Carbide. He was a member of the American Baptist Church in Lakeland, FL where he served as usher and trustee, former member of the Jefferson First Baptist Church where he served as usher, trustee, Board of Christian Education, coach of the church softball team, President of Buenos Amigos Sunday School Class and church deacon.

He was a member of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Dept. where he served as Captain & Assistant Fire Chief, he participated in fish fries at the Ashtabula Co. Fair and on the square in Jefferson. He enjoyed woodworking, custom formica work, hunting, fishing, camping and helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Frances, a daughter, Cindy Beckwith of Lakeland, FL, a grandson, Scott Rippons of Boca Raton, FL and his fiancé, Melanie Brown and her son, Philip, five nieces, four nephews, several great nieces & nephews and a brother-in-law, Don Scofield of Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jeanette Scofield and Velma King.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 P. M. at the American Baptist Church, 1500 W. Daughtery Rd., Lakeland, FL 33810 with a visitation from 2-3 P. M. at the church.

Additional services will be held Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 11:00 A. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson with Pastor Ed Pickard officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 A. M. prior to the service. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Chad A. Lendzian, age 36, Clay St., Jefferson, died late Tuesday evening at his residence following complication of a brief illness.

He was born October 6, 1973 in Ashtabula, the son of Sandra L. Park and Alfred W. Lendzian and has been a Jefferson area resident all of his life. He was a 1993 graduate of Jefferson Area High School.

Chad was a carpenter with Union Local #95. He enjoyed woodworking, the demolition derby, camping and spending time with his sons.

Survivors include his wife, Gretchen D. (Burge) Lendzian, whom he married on June 16, 2001 in Jefferson, two sons, Cody Michael Aron Lendzian & Grady Allen Lendzian, his father and step-mother, Al & Marla Lendzian of Ashtabula, his mother, Sandra Lendzian of Jefferson, a sister, Lori (Travis) Collins of Geneva, a step-sister, Carrie Martone of Jefferson and two grandmothers, Charlotte Eldred & Marilyn Park, both of Jefferson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred & Virginia Lendzian, Francis Park & Roland Eldred.

Bonna M. Leonard, 81 of Sanborn Rd. Saybrook Township died Friday (August 20th) in the Hospice Unit at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born November 7, 1928 in Ashtabula the daughter of Raymond and Helen Wrisley and has been a lifetime area resident.

She was a very active and long time member of the Ashtabula Congregation of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed watching old movies, going shopping and taking care of her yard.

Surviving her are two sons, David E. (Terri) Leonard of Las Vegas, Nevada and Gary A. (Toni) Leonard of Mentor, a granddaughter, Victoria Leonard of California and two sisters-in-law, Edith Wristley of North Carolina and Barbara Sanborn of Ashtabula. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald E. in 1996 and by a brother, Raymond “Bob” Wristley.

A memorial service will be Monday (August 23rd) at 7:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Donald Mack officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Saybrook Cemetery.

James Randall “Jimmy” Carlson, age 45, died early Friday morning at the Geneva Point Nursing Home where he was a resident.

He was born November 15, 1964 in Ashtabula, the son of James R. & Norma F. (Hartz) Carlson and has lived in the area all of his live. For the past 41 years, James has been part of Happy Hearts School and Ash Craft Industries, which was a big part of his life. He loved being with people and visiting. Jimmy was baptized and was a member of the Saybrook United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his parents, James & Norma Carlson of Geneva, a sister, Christine R. (Brian) Kiley of Milan, a brother, Jon S. (Sarah) Carlson of Berea and seven nieces and nephews, Jacob, Mallory & Rachel Kiley and Larissa (Michael) Moore, twins Kailee & Kaitlyn & Nathan Carlson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bud & Catherine Hartz and Ernest, Frances & Edith Carlson.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A. M. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4901 Main Ave., Ashtabula, with Fr. David Evans officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva.

Ralph E. Custead, 94 of Jefferson Rd. Ashtabula died Saturday (Aug. 14th) at the Ashtabula County Home and Rehabilitation Center, Kingsville, Ohio. He was born November 19, 1915 In Dorset, Ohio the son of Horace and Alta (Crockett) Custead and has been a lifetime area resident.

He had been employed with the Ashtabula Fork and Hoe and then the True Temper in Saybrook for 45 and half years retiring in 1982.

He had been an active member of the First Christian Church in Ashtabula and was currently attending the East Side Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed coon hunting, ball room dancing, fishing in Canada and reading the Bible. Surviving him are his daughter, Nancy Custead of Ashtabula; a sister, Alice Russell in Virginia and a special great-nephew, Keith Applebee of Ashtabula and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen L. Custead in 1993; a brother, Lawrence “Doc” Custead and three sisters, Rudelle Stump, Maureen Beebe and Catherine Custead.

Funeral services will be Wednesday (August 18th) at 12:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Shane Nanney of the East Side Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

Clifford Ted” S. Welser, 103 of S. Market St. Jefferson died Sunday (August 15th) at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born August 1, 1907 in Lenox the son of Albert and Emma (Bowery) Welser and has been a lifetime area resident.

He married Mary Virginia Flack on August 12, 1938. He was a self employed carpenter until his retirement.

He was a member of the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene where he served on the church board, he was a Sunday School Superintendent and a handyman for the church which he loved since he joined in 1936. He enjoyed going to his cottage in Canada, sports, fishing, hunting, being a carpenter and Sunday dinners with his family especially the pies.

Surviving him are his wife Mary of 72 years, his daughter, Barbara A. (Glade) Heath of Jefferson; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, Keith R. and Ronald R. Welser; two brothers, Harry T. and Raymond H. Welser and by a sister, Jessie M. Berrier.

Funeral services will be Thursday (August 19th) at 11:00 AM at the Jefferson home of Fleming & Billman funeral Directors, 49 West Jefferson St. Jefferson with Rev. Richard Wright and Rev. Meredith Coleman of the Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Jefferson.

Phyllis L. Johnson, 82 of Colony Court, Geneva died Friday (August 13th) at her home. She was born August 10, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pa. the daughter of Frank J. and Irene (McDowell) Harper and has lived in the Geneva area most of her life.

She was a realtor with Holden Realty and then Smith Cramer Realty. She had also worked at K-Mart and Geneva Rubber Company.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and she was an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed playing computer games.

Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Karen L. McCroden of Geneva and Michael J. Bartholomew of Woodstock, Ga.; two granddaughters, Julie (Kevin) Duncan of Kennesaw, Ga. And Lori (Jeremy) Reeves of Cumming, Ga. ; a great granddaughter, Katie Duncan; nine step children, Robert (Liz) Johnson of Hudson, Florida, Edward (Ann) Johnson, Nancy Poyer, Mary Jane Johnson of Ashtabula, Oh., Kathy Johnson of Ft. Myers, Florida, Patricia (Bill) Schubert of Austinburg, Ohio and Janet Covell of Windsor, Ohio; a sister. Lorys Crawford of Plant City, Florida and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, Richard Bartholomew, Frank Thor and Edward Johnson; a sister, Betty Renn and a brother, F. James Harper.

Dalton E. Williams, age 84, Doyle Rd., Jefferson, died late Wednesday evening at the Jefferson Healthcare Center where he had been a patient the past two months.

He was born May 24, 1926 in Milroy, WV, the son of Oley & Retha (Ware) Williams and has been a resident of Jefferson since 1963, coming from Jane Lew, WV. Mr. Williams was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He was married to Opal I. Dennison, the love of his life, on June 25, 1948 in Weston, WV. He was a wonderful Christian man, dad and husband.

Mr. Williams was a 25 year employee of Reliance Electric, retiring in 1988. He gained the nickname “Sugardale” for his love of lunch meat. He attended the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene. He was gifted in a manner that he could repair or build anything from his own instinctive knowledge. He was proud that he built his own home in West Virginia and built his daughter’s home on Doyle Rd. Family, work and church was his life.

Survivors include two children, Edward L. (Cathy) Williams & Shelia K. (Ron) Headley, both of Jefferson, six grandchildren, Candy (Steve) Ellsworth, Chris Williams, Shaun (Amber) Williams, Katie Williams, Jennifer (Travis) Branstetter & Jillian (Ricky) Walters, two great-grandchildren, Brady & Ella, four sisters, Genieve Sailor of Jane Lew, WV, Shirley Cogar & Geranium Neeley, both of Falls Mills, WV & Gertrude Gibson of Clarksburg, WV and four brothers, Charles Williams of Albuquerque, NM, Thomas Williams of Danville, VA, Devon Williams of Cleveland & Dewey Williams of Falls Mills, WV.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Opal in 2004 and a sister, Ona Howard.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Travis Branstetter of the Logan Church of the Nazarene and grandson-in-law of Mr. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Geneva VFW Post #6846 will provide full military honors.

Paul Bish, 89 of Dickinson Rd. Ashtabula died Thursday (August 12th) at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Ashtabula. He was born November 24, 1920 in Summerville, Pa. the son of Lawrence A. and Nora J. (Whampler) Bish.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army with the 80th Infantry Division with General George Patton in the European Theater of Operations where he participated in D-Day , The Battle of the Bulge and was there for the liberation of the concentration camp at Buchenwald . Along with several medals he was awarded the Bronze Star.

He was employed with Carlisle’s Department Store for 42 years in the Carpet Department retiring in 1984. He was on the Deacon Board and a longtime member of the Berean Bible Church of Ashtabula. He attended the Gateway Church of the Assemblies of God in Ashtabula. He enjoyed attending his Army reunions every year, golfing and fishing.

Surviving him are his daughter, Barbara (Philip) Bish of Ashtabula; a son, Robert (Lauren) Bish of Tuscon, Arizona; two grandchildren, Michael (Becca) Loomis and Logan Pace; two great granddaughters, Kayla and Amilia; a brother, Kenneth (Erna) Bish of Ashtabula and a sister, Donna (Clarence) Bibbee of Ashtabula. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorcas Bish in 2004,two brothers, Homer Bish and Arnold Bish and a sister, Helen Miller.

Funeral services will be Monday (August 16th) at 2:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Rev. Donald Hammer of the Gateway Church of the Assemblies of God officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery with American Legion Post 103 conducting military rites.

Lewis W. Leary, age 85, W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, died unexpectedly Tuesday at his residence.

He was born May 3, 1925 in Sagerstown, PA, the son of Ernest W. & Florence A. (Wood) Leary and has been a resident of Jefferson since 1961, coming from Glen Burnie, MD. He also lived several years in Jamestown, PA. Mr. Leary was a graduate of Theil College. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was married to Mary Jane Reigelman on November 24, 1951 in Greenville, PA.

Mr. Leary taught at Deming High School in New Lyme from 1955-58, then in Glen Burnie, MD from 1958-61, then taught math and geometry at Jefferson Area High School until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, the Ohio Retired Teachers Assoc., VFW Post #3334, he played and coached baseball for several years and was a sports enthusiast.

He is survived by four sons, Gregg L. (Lynn) Leary of Jefferson, Brad J. (Teena) Leary of Warren, PA, Sid D. (Sandy) Leary of Jefferson & Jeff L. (Dawn) Leary of Conover, NC, nine grandchildren, Sean, Caitlynn, Jennifer, Chelci, Emily, Michael, Megan, MacKenzie & Madilynne, four brothers, Lloyd Leary in California, James (Norma) Leary, John (Doris) Leary & Thomas Leary, all in Jamestown, PA, a sister, Sue Courtney & a sister-in-law, Maxine Leary, bothin Jamestown, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Jane Leary in 2005, a brother, Robert “Bob” Leary and his mother-in-law, Lena M. Reigelman.

Private funeral services will be held Monday with burial in Oakdale Cemetery. Geneva VFW Post #6846 will provide full military honors. Calling hour will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 P. Agnes L Warring

Agnes L. Warring, 87 of Howard Rd. Ashtabula died June 15th at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Ashtabula. She was born November 22, 1922 in Rome, Ohio the daughter of Fred and Helen (Graves) Bailey and has been a lifetime area resident.

Agnes graduated from Rome High School in 1940, leaving behind five class members of a class that she loved. She then went on to graduate in 1946 as a Registered Nurse from Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing. She then married Charlton XC. Warring on Nov. 30, 1946 with whom she had a wonderful lasting marriage until his death on August 4, 2002. They built their own house, a home she dearly loved and where she felt safe and in which she was able to reside until late April of this year.

She loved being a wife, homemaker, and mother. In addition, she truly enjoyed her career as a Registered Nurse, in which she worked part time at Ashtabula General Hospital from 1954 until her retirement in 1984.

Her church, formerly the First Christian Church on Austinburg Rd in Ashtabula, was such an integral part of her life from mid-1959 until it final service on Feb. 8, 2009. Her activities, among others, included being a Sunday School teacher, singing in the choir, and being on various Christian Women’s Fellowship committees. Her memorial service is being held at the Bible Baptist in Ashtabula where her daughter, Jeanie, was a former member for several years until moving away.

Agnes loves flowers and for many years loved tending her several flower gardens. She enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk show every Saturday evening since its inception in the 1950’s. She and her husband enjoyed rooting for the Cleveland Indians for many years, and she carried this interest even into this season.

Surviving her are two daughters, Marlene (Gerald Smith) Lehtinen of Park City, Utah and Jeanie (John) Turmala of Mesa, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents in 1978, her husband, Charlton C. Warring in 2002; a brother, Neal Bailey and a sister, Wilma (Bailey) Yuhas.

A memorial service will be Saturday (August 14th) at 2:00 PM at the Bible Baptist Church, 4448 North Ridge Rd. West Ashtabula with Dr. Larry L. Emery officiating. Burial had taken place at Ridgeview Cemetery in Ashtabula.

Calling hour will be Saturday from 1:00 PM until 1:45 Pm at the Church. The Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 526 West Prospect Rd. Ashtabula is in charge of arrangements.

Doris J. Vicol, age 82, St. Rt. 307 West, Jefferson, died early Tuesday morning at the Ashtabula Co. Medical Center.

She was born November 5, 1927 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Carl & Lucille (Burns) McClintock and has been an Ashtabula Co. resident all of her life. She was married to Charles R. Vicol on June 23, 1957 in Warren.

Mrs. Vicol was a 31 year employee of Reliance Electric, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church and was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed yard work, sewing and quilting.

Survivors include two sons, Rick C. (LeAnne) Vicol of Lakewood and Ron L. Vicol of Euclid, four grandchildren, Nicholas Vicol, Carly Purdy, Catherine Costa & Meagan Bursley, four great-grandchildren, Dresden, Desmond, Lochlan & Mckenna, a brother, Ralph “Skip” McClintock of Jefferson and two sisters, Gladys Obrenski of Rock Creek & Patricia Fields of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles in 1990 and a sister, Charlotte Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday at the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson with the Rev. Meredith Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.

Ray R. Stone, age 79, St. Rt. 193, Dorset Twp., died Wednesday evening at his residence.

He was born July 16, 1931 in Geneva, the son of Earl & Nina (Davis) Stone and has been an area resident most of his life, living in Dorset Twp. since 1968. Mr. Stone was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stone was a retired self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed fishing with his sons, keeping busy in his garden and yard and especially his family.

Survivors include his wife, Loma Lee (Brandon) Stone, whom he married on November 11, 1950 in Austinburg Twp., 10 children, Bonnie (Jack) Ogle of Rock Creek, Ray (Donna) Stone, Jr. of Jefferson, Curtis (Carolyn) Stone of Jefferson, Dorothy (Jeff) Jewell of Dorset Twp., Adeline (Bob) White of Jefferson, Linda (Mike) Riffle of Saybrook Twp., Rick (Ileana) Stone of Dayton, John (Donna) Stone of Dorset Twp., Tammy (Leroy) Davis of Andover & Joe (Bobbi) Stone of Jefferson, 31 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Edward Pickard of Dorset Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dorset Cemetery where Geneva Post #6846 of the VFW will provide full military honors.

Harry A. Scott, 89 of Plymouth Rd. in Plymouth Township died Thursday (August 5th) at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Kingsville, Ohio. He was born April 28, 1921 in Geneva, Ohio the son of Mildord A. and Myrtle (St. John) Scott and has been a lifetime area resident.

He was in the Army during World War II. He had been employed for over 31 years with R. W. Sidley Company as a driver/mixer.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union; VFW post #943 and St. Joseph Church in Ashtabula. He had volunteered at many different places including the St. Joseph Food Pantry, the Mother of Sorrows Soup Kitchen and the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. He had been named Ashtabula Citizen of the Year for all his volunteer work.

Surviving him are his daughter, Karen (Henry ) Rogers of Madison; three step children, Jeannie Rea of Plymouth Twp, Edward (Karen) Shaw of Florida and Patricia Wright of Ashtabula; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a sister, Leta Griffes of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy M. Scott in 2000 and two sons, Arthur Scott and Dale Scott.

A service will be Monday (August 9th) at 1:00 PM at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Masoleum, 3140 East Center St. North Kingsville with Deacon Richard Johnson of St. Joseph Church officiating.

Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the American Lung Association or St. Joseph Church Food Pantry.
