Walter Petrowski, 89 of Madison died Friday at the Madison ER. He was born January 4, 1927 in Leroy, Ohio the son of John and Anna (Srp) Petrowski and has been a lifetime Madison resident.
At Perry High School he was a Gold Gloves Boxing Champion. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, trimming trees, playing cards and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving him are seven children, Bonnie Lavelle of Virginia Beach, VA, Nancy Humphreys of Geneva, Lois (Fred) Galloway of Thompson, Jerry (Sue) Petrowski of Madison, Karen Herron of Ashtabula, Diane (Marvin) Loving of Geneva and Steve (Carol) Petrowski of Geneva; twenty one grandchildren; forty four great grandchildren; two brothers, Rudy of New York and Robert of Perry and a sister, Rose Mitchell of Fairport. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen Petrowski in 2007; three brothers, Jim. Frank and John, a sister, Jenny and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (Sept. 21st) at 12:00 Noon at the Geneva Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 323 South Broadway, Geneva. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery with Fairport VFW Post #26 Gold Star Conducting Military rites. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to time of service at the funeral home.
