Pauletta M. Nelson, age 69, went to her final resting place on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 5:00 AM.

She was born November 19, 1945 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Francis & Verna (Gildersleeve) Nelson.  She was raised in Denmark Twp. and has lived in Ashtabula much of her life.  Pauletta was a graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Kent State University.  She was a member of the Ashtabula First United Methodist Church.

She was employed at True Temper Corp. in Saybrook Twp. for 14 years until their closure, was a bookkeeper at Country Club Retirement Center for many years and most recently was a bookkeeper at Thomas Fence Co. for 16 ½ years until her illness would no longer allow her to work.

Her hobbies included crocheting, of which she gave most items to her friends, she also enjoyed watching the birds and NASCAR, but most importantly she enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Marie Legg of Andover & Ann Marie (Jose’) Rodriguez of N. Kingsville, four grandchildren, Jose’ (Emily) Rodriguez, II of North Kingsville, Bobby Hauger of Conneaut, Justin (Whitney) Rodriguez of North Kingsville & Alexis Rodriguez of North Kingsville, a great-granddaughter, Gizelle Marie Rodriguez and a brother, Tom (Donna) Nelson of Kingsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Wendell Nelson, grandparents, Harry & Angie Nelson and Thomas & Maude Gildersleeve, three nephews and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family would like to express a special “thank you” to her nurses at Tridia Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 A. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Christine Bell the First United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4-6 P.
