Howard C. Campbell, SR, 78 of Ashtabula Township died Thursday Feb. 15th at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was born January 22, 1940 in Ashtabula the son of Howard S. and Florence (Rich) Campbell and has been a lifetime area resident.
He was a veteran of the United States Marines.
He married Pauline M. Wetherbee on May 21, 1963 in Jefferson, Ohio and have had celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Howard had worked for RMI in Ashtabula for 22 years and Elkim Metals for 6 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the East Ashtabula Club and he enjoyed all kinds of sports. His favorite thing was hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed swimming.
Surviving him are his four children, David (Tina Bodecker) Campbell of Ashtabula; Howard “Butch” Campbell, JR of Ashtabula; Susan Campbell of Geneva and William “Bill” (Kim) Campbell of Ashtabula; six grandchildren, Howard C. Campbell, Andrew (Christina) Gross, Rebecca (Douglas) Magda, Amanda Campbell, Aimee Campbell and William “Billy” Campbell, Jr.; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Tietz of Geneva and Bonnie (David) Howe of Ashtabula; a brother, Bruce (Glenetta) Campbell of Ashtabula and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Pauline on Dec. 24, 2017.
At Howard’s request there will be no services.
