Ernest W. Sherman, age 69 of Footville-Richmond Rd., Lenox Twp., died unexpectedly Saturday morning in the emergency room at Tri-Point Medical Center.

He was born May 19, 1947 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Milton & Naomi (Nuse) Sherman and has lived in this area the past 27 years coming from Little Valley, NY.  Ernest was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War.  He was married to Brenda L. Thomas on July 6, 2010 in New Lyme Twp.

Mr. Sherman retired in 2009 from Lakeview Forging in Erie.  He is a member of the Pentecostal Community Church in New Lyme Twp., was a driver for the Amish and enjoyed being with his family

Survivors include his wife, Brenda L. Sherman, three children, Alona J. (Jeffrey Miller) Sherman of Andover, Mary A. (Ryan) Floyd of Limerick, ME & Ernest W. Sherman, II of Portland, ME, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Edna (David) Stubbs of Williamsville, NY & Judith (William) Sneath of St. Catherine’s, Ontario, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Rebekah Sherman in 1983, his first wife, Linda Sherman in 2009 and a sister, Mary Sherman.

Memorial services will be held at 6:30 P. M. Tuesday at the Pentecostal Community Church, 5348 Peck Rd., Jefferson, with Pastor Scott Ardary officiating.  Calling hours will be held Thursday 6-8 P. M. at the Mentley Funeral Home in Little Valley, NY. Graveside services with military honors will be Friday at 11:00 A.
