Donna J. Newlun, age 73, a six month resident of Deer River, MN, died Thursday afternoon at the Essential Health-St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.

She was born August 16, 1943 in Buchtel, OH, the daughter of Elmer & Florence (Hook) Bowen and lived in Nelsonville, OH before moving to Jefferson, OH in 1982.  In 2004 she re-located to Menomonie, WI, before moving to Deer River.  Donna enjoyed reading and loved being of help to other people.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy J. Klingler of Menomonie, WI & Melissa M. (“Mr. Dale”) Wilkening of Deer River, MN, four grandchildren, Dustin Wilkening, Steven Klingler and Cathy & Bobby Prine, a geat-granddaughter, Caydence Wilkening and a sister, Mary Alice McCollister of St. Mary’s, OH.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Kathy Sue Prine, a grandson, Jesse Wilkening, two sisters, Louise Smith & Ellen Arnold and her companion of many years, Robert “Larry” Lyall.

A graveside service with the burial of ashes will take place Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 A. M. in Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson, OH.  The Rev. Mick Gilliam, associate at the Jefferson United Methodist Church will officiate.  The Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W.
